Patalul and meeting friends

Shared by Pam

What a great day! Patalul was our longest ride, lowest elevation, and hottest day. The clinic was in a beautiful covered courtyard and the people were waiting when we arrived. Everyone has their role and routine pretty fine tuned and we saw 73 patients. It’s really wonderful to see so many families with children and elders. The nurses and doctors are so respectful and gentle in their interactions and treatments.

My high today was being able to meet my scholarship student, Jose, and his family. I have sponsored Jose since he finished 6th grade and now he is moving into his career path, accounting. It was awesome being able to visit his family home. His mother and I hugged a lot and cried a little. Education is important to their family and they are grateful for that opportunity.
