Miracles

As a newcomer, rookie to MDP,

I can honestly say that this

experience is life changing. As a

“pharmacist”, I am not directly

involved with the patients, but I

can observe the miracles that

happen because of MDP.

  • a man who had an ear wash
    and could hear again

  • a man who was given a pair
of glasses and could see again

  • a woman young woman of 17
    with a 2-year-old being comforted
in the arms of a provider when
she learned that she was pregnant
    again

  • a jolly woman who was so happy
to see a doctor that she couldn’t
help but spread joy to others with
    her laughter

  • a purse left behind in a bathroom
    stall that was miraculously still
there when we doubled back to
    retrieve it

  • a lost wallet that was found

  • The skillful driver who is
dependable and gets us to our daily
    clinic destinations on narrow, winding
    curve-filled mountain roads safely
    despite some dense fog conditions.

It is also a miracle that a

team of nine people could come

together and within a few days

become a family. This family

is composed of five females and

four males, ranges in age from 19

to 79, with some who can speak

Spanish and some who cannot. They

work together like a well-greased

machine to serve the people of

Chiapas in the most friendly, caring,

and efficient way.

Serving with MDP is such a

wonderful opportunity. It leaves

me with a sense of purpose and

fulfillment. I am so grateful to

be in Chiapas with MDP.

Linda Good
